Six Months Old~August 2010
Wow-Henry is getting bigger by the minute it seems! He is now almost 19 lbs. and 28 inches long! Anna Grace still has every child beat weighing in at over 21 lbs at six months. We've begun solids and while he wasn't a fan during his first tastes he has definitely come around. He loves smacking his lips after every bite! So far he has had bananas, sweet potatos, sweet peas, carrots, and pears. He has not turned anything away. Henry is drooling like crazy, but still no teeth! His sisters have him beat here too-both got their first tooth and 5 and 5.5 months. Where they are hiding, I'll never know. He has all the signs of teething but no teeth. He still sleeps all night, occassionly waking at 5 am (but he does go back to sleep for a bit). He sits up, but not completely unsupported yet-He does lean forward and rest on his hands. This month he visited friends for birthday parties and the UT Gardens with our playgroup. He didn't take in all the sights the garden had to offer, but he was super good, didn't fuss, and loved relaxing while his sisters played. He loves making noises with his lips and blowing spit bubbles. He also has taken a liking to pulling his sisters' hair. We had his six month pictures made and he was a hoot-mouth open and tongue out in almost every picture (sticking his tongue out for the camera has become the signature Henry expression lately).
Five Months Old-July 2010
Henry is growing, growing, growing! This month he laughed out loud in response to funny voices, faces, and toys. He loves to laugh! He also rolled front to back and back to front. He loves to hold toys and chew his fists, fingers, and bibs. He's sleeping well and eating well. He is up to 7-8 oz every 3 hours. He seems to be really hungry lately. We didn't start solids due to beach trips and hectic schedules but we plan on testing out some cereal and veggies this week! He traveled to many new places: Uncle Malcom and Francis' farm in Pigeon Forge, UT to visit Gran's office, and Dollywood (steaming hot!). He enjoyed all his new adventures!
Four Months Old-June 2010
Henry is officially 4 months old, 15 lbs. 13 oz. and over 26 in. long! He is growing so quickly that most that we've had to break out his 6-12 month clothes. He is eating a 7 oz. bottle for breakfast and then 6 oz bottles the rest of the day. He is sleeping all night from 8-7am. He has a few nights every now and then where he tries to press his luck and wakes up around 1am, but the paci and reswaddling gets him right back to sleep. We found out this month that Henry has a small hole in his heart that should have closed before birth. We have seen a great pediatric cardiologist who told us this is very common in babeis (1 in 5 actually) and that is might even close naturally on its own and poses no health risks or restrictions. We were very relieved to hear this news! He has discovered his hands and loves to grab onto things and look at them as well. He is scooting around on his side and trying his best to roll over, but nothing has happened yet. He is cooing, ahhing, and guhing and has also picked up a new trick-making spit bubbles! Henry also uttered his first giggles in the past month! So cute! We are going to try solids in a few weeks, so stay tuned!
Three Months Old-May 2010
Well, Mr. Henry is growing, growing, growing! We are not sure of his exact weight or height because his next well baby check up is not until four months old. He is fitting into his three to six month clothing and some of those outfits are getting snug, so I would say he is right on track. Currently, he is eating 6 oz. every three hours. He is spitting up like crazy, but he is on reflux medication. While this is not really helping with the spitting up, it is helping with the discomfort. Henry is a mix between Emma and Anna Grace. Well, he looks JUST LIKE Emma, but he acts like them both. He does not nap well and does not like bedtime, which is just like Emma, BUT he sleeps all night from 8-7 just like Anna Grace. Henry has great head control and loves "talking" to anyone around. He loves to smile at everybody and he is very observant. He also likes to smile at himself in the mirror. Some other things he really likes are: the baby swings, music, his bouncy seat, his hands, and the lights on his play mat. He loves to open and close his hands and almost always has them balled up into fists while feeding, but he has yet to grab onto a rattle and hold it. Oh, and he loves to chew on his paci and bottle nipple, so my guess is that he is already teething-YIKES! Some firsts this month: a visit to Home Depot with Daddy, a short visit to Mommy's school, and testing out the exersaucer for the first time.
Two Months Old-April 2010
Henry is growing like a weed! His current weight is 13 lbs. 5 oz.-95th percentile. He doesn't miss any meals! Right now he is eating 5-6 6oz. bottles a day. He is sleeping pretty well at night, from about 8 or 9pm and waking between 4 and 6am. He cut out his midnight and 3am feedings on his own! He trying to roll over, lunging to one side when he is on his back or in the swing. He loves people watching, bright colors and being held. His favorite "toy" is his playmat and he loves his sound machine and any kind of music. This month Henry learned to smile! He likes to smile at Mommy, Daddy, his sisters and any kind of toy that lights up.
One Month Old
Time sure does fly! Little Henry isn't so little anymore. He is weighing in at 10 lbs. 7 0z. and a little over 22 inches long. Needlesstosay he is another good eater! Right now, he is taking 4-5 oz. every 3-4 hours. He is doing really well and only waking once a night between 2 and 4 am. We're hoping he is sleeping thru the night like his big sister Anna at two months. Time will tell! He does pretty well with his eating, wake time, napping routine during the day. He is super alert during his awake times. His eyes are turning a little brownish-green. I think they will be brown eventually. His newborn clothes are snug and he is fitting into his 0-3 month clothes with no problem. He has a little bit of reflux which is causing some discomfort, but nothing too terribly bad. He is holding his head up well and already cooing and gooing. He is very, very snuggly and loves to be held and rocked. We are so happy with our little man!
March 3, 2010~One week old
Wow, time flies! One minute I'm in the hospital and the next Henry is a week old. He is doing so well. We could not ask for a better baby. He is sleeping pretty well at night so far. The past few nights he has only been up 1-2 times. It has been a blessing. We had his first doctor visit on Monday and he checked out just fine. He already has been working on holding his head up for a seconds at a time. We look forward to seeing what else he can accomplish in his first month!
He's here! Henry Parker arrived at 12:02 pm on February 24, 2010. He weighed in at 7 lbs. 10 oz-the smallest Hart baby yet!-and 20 inches long. He was a squirmer and screamer right away, but as the day went on he calmed down and was able to nap and eat like a champ. We'll see how the next few days go ;-).
UPDATE: February 19, 2010 Another visit to the OB and I am still just 4cm! This is definitely the slowest I have progressed based on the my three pregnancies, especially considering I started progressing earlier this time too. I only had to be 5cm to be admitted today for an induction, so that was a little disappointing, and baffling considering how I have been feeling. I will be 39 weeks next Wednesday and we are scheduled for an induction at 6 am. I have no doubt that the labor and delivery will be pretty quick once they get the pitocin going. I had Anna within two hours of starting the pitocin, so I expect Henry will be just as quick.
UPDATE: February 16, 2010 We had our 38 week appointment today and found that I have not changed much since last week-still 4cm. The concern at this point is that if I get to 5cm I could easily deliver very quickly (I am 100% effaced). I am also GBS positive and becuase of this will need penicillin two hours before I deliver. I was also GBS positive with Anna, but there was less concern that I would go into spontaneous labor with her. So, no eating or drinking after midnight on Thursday night and we are due back for another appointment Friday morning at 8:30. Sounds as if I could be sent over to labor and delivery afterward! We also had an ultrasound this appointment. Henry looked great. We saw some hair floating around and he is measuring on track, in fact a little bigger. His weight is estimated around 7lbs. 5 oz. We also saw some 3-D images. I think he will look a lot like Emma, which means another replica of Bob-he had the notorious Hart Elvis lip which was one of Emma and Bob's signature poses.
UPDATE: February 8, 2010 At our 37 week appointment today, we found out that I am already 4 cm dilated! This is a 2 cm jump from last week. Dr. Walker estimates that Henry will be here within the next 10 days! This makes me a little nervous-I don't like not knowing exactly when something will happen. His room is all ready, so all we need now is baby brother!
UPDATE: January 2010 This pregnancy is flying by! Over Christmas Break I had a terrible UTI, but I recovered after about a week and started to feel much better! Henry was just showered with gifts at a baby shower over the long MLK holiday weekend. We got so much stuff and are so very thankful to all our family and friends! His nursery is still in the works, but it's getting there. As soon as we have it ready I will post some pictures. We should have another ultrasound in a week or two to get a weight estimate. Only 6 weeks or so to go!
UPDATE: November 6, 2009 We had another ultrasound today. Henry has turned! So we are good to go for a natural delivery IF he does not flip again. Everything is measuring right on track for March 3. The ultrasound tech said she thinks he will be a big baby. Emma was 7.12 and Anna Grace was 8.5 so she said if the babies get bigger each time chances are he will be bigger than the last. He has long muscular legs already and, of course, Daddy is ready to put him in his pads and jersery for football and he is not even here yet. He is a little excited, if you can't tell!
UPDATE: October 9, 2009 Today we got some very surprising news! We are expecting our first baby boy! Daddy is very excited and I am still in shock. I hope I will know what to do with a little boy after over two years of bows, dresses, flowers and everything girly! Henry Parker is due to arrive March 3 (or sooner). Currently he is breech-I am desperately hoping he moves before his due date. The tech said the chances are good, but if he hasn't moved by 30 weeks, he probably won't. So, he has 10 more weeks to do some moving! I also have an anterior placenta so this explains why Henry's movement in so infrequent and hard to feel. Apparently that really cushions what I can feel. My next appointment is Nov. 6 and I have another ultrasound scheduled. I will post pictures of his latest ultrasound very soon.
August: We don't know much, other than we are due March 7, 2010 and there is only one baby in my rather large belly! We can not wait to find out the sex on October 9, but already anticipate another girl . |
